Grey-white crochets + pattern. Harmaavalkoiset virkkaukset + ohje

These are not black and white photos...... I made some grey-white crochets recently.

Recycled crafts to crochet are amazing and super easy to do, so you should definitely learn how to make for example crochet cans!

Moikka kaikille!

Nämä eivät ole mustavalkoisia kuvia... Minä tein harmaavalkoisia virkauksia äskettäin.

Uudelleenkäytettävät käsityöt ovat upeita ja todella helppoja tehdä, joten sinun pitäisi ehdottomasti oppia kuinka tehdä esimerkiksi virkatut purkit!

The pattern of the crochet rose:

1.  chain 25 (if you make more, the rose will be bigger, or less, it will be smaller)
2.  DC to the fifth chain from the hook , skip one chain,* DC, 1 ch, DC to the same chain, skip one chain*,  repeat until the end. (you make like V shapes) , turn
3. Crochet 5 DC to each DC-chain-DC space ( the first V)- here you get the petals, than SC between two V, 5 DC to every V space , SC between. Repeat until the end.
Leave a long tail,  threading the tail through a needle (the tail will be used to sew it all together), sew together. You are ready.

Virkattu ruusun ohje:

1.  virkkaa 25 ketjusilmukkaa
2.  aloita viidennestä silmukasta, virkkaa joka toiseen silmukkaan kaksoispylväs, 1 ketjusilmukka, kaksoispylväs
3. Virkkaa nyt jokaiseen kaksoispylväs-ketjusilmukka -renkaaseen 5 kaksoispylvästä, joista muodostuu kukan terälehdet ja virkkaa jokaisen viiden kaksoispylvään jälkeen yksi kiinteäsilmukka.
Kiedo virkattu pitsinauha spiraaliksi, jolloin siitä muodostuu ruusun kukinto. Neulo yhteen ja olet valmis.

And the doily comes here. Original pattern offered different edging, but I didn't like it, so I crocheted my own border.

Pöytäliina on tässä. Alkuperäinessä ohjeessa oli erilainen reuna, mutten pitänyt siitä, joten virkkasin oman reunan.

Using leftover yarn - Part One: Pincushions. Lankojen loppujen käyttäminen - Osa yksi: Neulatyynyt

Hi Everyone!

Today I'd like to show you some crochet ideas to use leftover yarn. I mean really leftover, not that amount of yarn what would be enough to make blankets for the whole family. We all have some yarn left over from old knitting and crochet projects. Personally I save every centimeter yarn, sometimes I use it for filling, but I do not throw away any.

I was wondering what to do with leftover yarn. Some weeks ago I recognized I didn't have pincushion. Such a joke. :-) I don't even understand how I could live without it. So I crocheted some.

Tänään haluaisin jakaa kanssanne muutamia ideoita, miten käyttää lankojen loput. Lopuilla tarkoitan todellakin loppuja, ts. määriä, joista ei enää tee vilttejä koko perheelle. Lankojen loppuja kertyy helposti, ja itse käytän kaiken, joskus vaikka täytemateriaalina. 

Minulle oli kertynyt lankojen loppuja ja mietin, mitä tehdä niille. Sitten keksin. Minulta puuttuu neulatyyny. Aikamoinen puute :-), miten olen tähän saakka selvinnyt ilman. Päätin virkata muutaman.

Here are my quick projects to use scrap yarn:

This one may be used as a toy, because my son said it is an UFO. :-) I think he is right, because how he is using it I feel it absolutely as an unidentified flying object.

Tässä nopeat langanloppu projektini:

Tätä voi käyttää myös leluna, koska poikani kutsui sitä ufoksi. Luulen, että hän on oikeassa, koska hän usein käyttää sitä ufona...

This small cushion is so romantically lovely with the pink flower.

Tämä pieni tyyny on niin romattisen ihanan romanttinen pinkillä kukalla.

 This yarn is really a leftover. Took around 10 minutes to make a cushion.

Nämä tyynyt syntyivät noin 10 minuutissa.

So cute, this is my favourite. I had not enough red yarn to make six petal flower.

Tämä on suosikkini, lanka riitti vain viiteen terälehteen, ei kuuteen.

Apple with needles, Snow White had more dangerous one.

Omena neuloilla, Lumikki söi vaarallisemman.

Needles goes only into mushroom! Snail is just a decoration :-)

Neulat laitetaan vain sieniin! Etana on koriste, ei neulatyyny :-)

Crochet heart coasters. Virkatut sydän lasinaluset.

Hello Everyone!

I had a busy weekend of making crochet coasters. As you all know, I love to work with simple, pure colors. There is no need to make everything at the last minute, so already an idea for the December Independence day: the blue-white coaster (really Finnish color)  :-)...

Virkatut lasinaluset pitivät minut kiireisenä viikonloppuna. Kuten olette ehkä huomanneet, pidän yksinkertaisista ja puhtaista väreistä. Kaikkea ei tarvitse tehdä viime minuutilla, joten jo nyt joulukuun Itsenäisyyspäivälle idea: Sinivalkoinen lasinalunen (kuten Suomen lipussa) :-)

By the way, did you know that originally the first beer mats were used already in 1880? The wealthy class had their porcelain to use, but the working class had to find an alternative method to protect their beer or other beverages from insect. The absorbent material also kept the condensation of beverages from pooling on tables or other furniture. Later many breweries were using beer mats to advertise, type of one time usage paper/cartoon coasters. For the home, we crocheters creating durable washable and beautiful coasters. Luckily handmade coasters are also in fashion!

Tiesitkö muuten, että ensimmäisiä olutmattoja käytettiin jo vuonna 1880? Varakkailla ihmisillä oli tietenkin posliinia käytössään, mutta työväenluokan piti löytää vaihtoehtoinen tapa suojata oluensa ja muut juomansa hyönteisiltä. Myöhemmin olutmattoja käytettiin myös mainontaan, hyvin tyypillistä pahvisille kertakäyttölasinalusille. Käsitöitä tekevät voivat luoda kotiin kestäviä ja pestäviä lasinalusia.

This year I'm making many different coasters. They are useful to anyone and also easy to make. On top of it all, there are a million different patterns to find on the internet.

 It is quite easy to make, also a chance to make with 2, 3 or even 4 colors. I like the simple version the most.

Se on helppo tehdä vaikka kahdella, kolmella tai neljällä värillä. Pidän yksinkertaisesta versiosta eniten.

Now I know, his name is Stuart. Nyt minä tiedän, hänen nimi on Stuart.

Hello Everyone!

... and he is a minion. Finally I got to know that my son's favorite minion characters name is Stuart, he just called, "the one eye minion". I have seen the movies, but forgive me if I do not remember their names. I started with an amigurumi Stuart, it is here, now I had to make something else as requested. Here are the crochet Stuart hat and mitten. I still plan to make linings to customize them much more to Finnish weather conditions.

.... ja hän on kätyri. Vihdoinkin tiedän poikani suosikkikätyrin, se on Stuart, yksisilmäinen kätyri. Näin elokuvan, mutta nimet jäi opettelematta. Aloitin amigurumi Stuartin kanssa, se on täällä. Nyt piti tehdä jotain muuta. Nyt esittelyissä Stuart pipo ja kintaat. Suunnitelmissa on tehdä vielä sisäpuolelle lisälämmikkeitä räätälöityinä suomalaisiin sääolosuhteisiin.

I made the mittens by my own ideas, however I am rather a crocheter, time to time I have to knit something. Basically I knitted a simple mitten with blue, yellow and black color. When it was ready I suited a crochet eye and made smile on his face! Isn't it lovely?

Kintaat olivat oma ideani, olen kuitenkin enemmän virkkaaja, mutta aika ajoin haluan neuloa jotain. Lyhyesti sanottuna neuloin yksinkertaisen kintaan sinisellä, keltaisella ja mustalla värillä. Kun se oli valmis, sovitin virkatun silmän ja tein hymynaaman. Eikö näytäkin hyvältä?

Crochet minion. Virkattu minion

Hello Everyone,

My son has flu again, so I crocheted a funny / get well / minion for him, with one eye only, as requested. That was the first movie he had ever seen in the cinema, so it will be long time a great memory. But minion crochet will be continued......

Crochet/Knitted Grey Cowl Pattern - Virkattu/Neulottu Harmaa Tuubihuivi Ohje

Hope we will have a great February, at least it will be more sunshine than in the last few weeks. I mentioned earlier I try how long I can resist for chocolate, so I managed whole January without chocolate, so proud of myself, but I was missing it a lot. The only thing I recognized is that I lost some weight, but my skin is not nicer, and - as I wrote earlier - chocolate consuming has so many positive effects, what I truly believe.  So based on my unscientific experience it is worth on consuming chocolate regularly! :-)

But lets go back to handicraft and have to remember that we are still in the middle of  the winter,  and its never too late to make some new cowls. One of the best things about cowls is that they are some of the most convenient crochet scarf patterns out there. I used again simple patterns, one is knitted other one is crocheted.

Toivottavasti saamme nauttia aurinkoisesta helmikuusta. Kerroin aikaisemmin tammikuussa aloittamastani suklaalakosta, kuukausi tuli täyteen. Olen ylpeä saavutuksesta, vaikkakin välillä tekikin kovasti mieli suklaata. Lakon seurauksena painoni putosi hieman, mutta ihoni ei muuttunut miksikään - kuten kirjoitin - aikaisemmin suklaalla on paljon positiivisia vaikutuksia, joihin uskon. Kokemukseeni ja epätieteelliseen kokeeseeni perustuen voin nyt sanoa, että suklaata kannattaa syödä säännöllisesti. ! :-)

Nyt takaisin käsityöaiheeseen ja muistuksena, että talvi on vasta puolivälissä, eikä koskaan ole liian myöhäistä tehdä joitakin uusia tuubihuiveja. Tuubihuivien tekemisessä auttavat paljon mukavat huivimallit, jotka soveltuvat myös tuubihuiveihin. Käytin muutamaa yksinkertaista mallia, yksi on neulottu, toinen virkattu.

Jos tarvitset ohjeet myös suomeksi, ilmoita vain minulle.

Crochet cowl / neck warmer Pattern:

Round 1. Chain 96 and join with an sl ST into a back of chain (be careful not to twist the work)

Round 2. DC to the forth chain from the hook, than DC to the same chain. (So you have only 2 DC at the start) Make 4 DC to each 4th chain around.  At the end of the first round crochet 2 DC to the same chain where you have started (where you had only two DC - to have the 4 DC here as well) sl ST to the first DC to close the round. It is important to close the rounds nicely.

Round 3. Where you finished the first round make 2 DC, than 4 DC to the middle of the next 4 DC. Continue according the pattern until you have reached the right size. Leave about 8-10 cm yarn to the and and fasten off well.  I have 22 finished rounds, I used exactly 2 yarn balls.

 It's light enough to wear in the spring, but substantial enough to keep you warm when the weather is a bit colder. It is perfect for anyone who is new to crochet or simply wants to work on a quick and easy project.

Tämä on tarpeeksi kevyt käytettäväksi myös keväällä, mutta tarpeeksi massiivinen pitämään sinut lämpimänä myös kun sää on hieman kylmempi. Tämä malli sopii niin aloittelijoille kuin helppoa ja nopeaa käsityötä etsivillekin.

The other cowl is knitted and super soft. I knitted short borders for both ends not to curl back, otherwise its a straight pattern, and I used sock knitting needles for this neck warmer. It does not have owner yet, but quite unisex pattern and color.

Allaoleva malli neulottu ja se on huippupehmeä. Neuloin kapeat reunukset molemmille reunoille estääkseni reunan kääntymisen, muuten kyseessä on suora malli tuubihuivista, johon käytin sukkapuikkoja. En ole vielä antanut tätä kenellekään, mutta uskoakseni se on unisex sekä malliltaan että väreiltään ja siksi sopii sekä miehelle että naiselle.
