Hello Everyone!

There are pinecone everywhere (in Finland), we hardly notice them, but the way you can decorate with them is endless. So let's do something with it! Here are some creative and easy ways to bring awesome nature home for the Christmas and long winter.

Moi kaikille!

Suomi on pullollaan käpyjä, tuskin edes huomaamme niitä, mutta kävyistä tehtävien koristeiden lista on loputon. Tehdään jotain niistä! Alla joitakin luovia ja helppoja luonnonkoristeideoita jouluksi ja talveksi.

1. Crafts for kids: Pine cone babies! I think these are adorable and very easy to make.

1. Askartelua lapsille: käpyvauvat! Oikein mukavia ja helppoja tehdä.

2. Golden pine cones. Make it feel like home. Go out, get some pine cones, if you use them inside then prepare them in the oven, put some gold spray on it, place it to (Ikea) vase, what otherwise you do not use very often. You are ready. :-)

2. Kultaiset kävyt. Sopii kotiin. Kerää muutamia käpyjä. Jos laitat ne sisälle, kuivaa niitä vähän uunissa, maalaa kultaspraylla, laita ruukkuun. Olet valmis :-)

 3. Candles in jars. Cheapest idea ever, and love reusing jars.

3. Kynttilöitä lasipurkeissa. Halvin idea koskaan ja helppo tapa uudelleenkäyttää tyhjiä lasipurkkeja.

4. Pine cone as a Christmas tree.

4. Joulukuusikäpy.

5. Pine cone ball! Not only for Christmas. This project made with a styrofoam ball, pine cones, hot glue and snow spray.

5. Käpypallo! Ei pelkästään jouluksi. Tämä tehtiin kävyistä, kuumasta liimasta ja kumispraysta.

Sama kuin edellinen, mutta erilaisessa korissa.

6.  Take them back to the tree! Isn't it fabulous?

 7.  DIY pine cone wreaths are a classic way to incorporate pine cones into your homemade Christmas decorations. Just because a Christmas craft is inspired by nature doesn't mean it can't be glamorous.

7. Tee se itse käpykranssi on klassinen tapa yhdistää kävyt joulukoristeeksi. Vaikka koriste on suoraan luonnosta ei tarkoita, etteikö se voisi olla edustava.

Christmas candles diy with kids. Tee se itse joulukynttilät lasten kanssa.

Today I show you some good ideas how to make Advent/Christmas candles with small kids. These ideas are so simple, quick, components are easily variable and last but not least economical.

They are simple, because I use very simple materials, only few colors, and they easily can be built and rebuilt without feeling so sorry of a lot of work/time/money if kids were playing with it or destroy, when you turn around. :-)

Basically you need some candles, washed jars or other glasses/cups, pine cone, limb, snow spray, gold/silver spray, string and small other decoration materials if you like.

In case of jars or cups, I think they do not must be same or same size, that will prove more they were DIY. Don't you think so?

Tänään ajattelin esitellä muutamia ideoita adventti-/joulukynttiläasetelmia, joita voi tehdä myös pienten lasten kanssa. Ideat ovat yksinkertaisia, nopeita, materiaalit ovat helposti muunneltavissa ja sokerina pohjalla kustannukset pysyvät aisoissa.

Ne ovat yksinkertaisia yksinkertaisten materiaalien vuoksi, vain muutamia värejä ja ne ovat helposti uudelleenrakennettavissa, jos vaikka jälkikasvu onnistuu tuhoamaan niitä.

Tarvitset joitain kynttilöitä, tyhjiä hillopurkkeja tai muuta laseja/kuppeja, käpyjä, havunoksia, lumisprayta, kulta-/hopeasprayta ja narua.

Hillopurkkien, lasien ja kuppien ei tarvitse edes olla samaa kokoa. Kokoerot vain entisestään korostavat niiden olevan itsetehtyjä.

1.  I found some lovely tiny decorations from local Tiger .These are very good size to hang on a jar.

1. Löysin joitain pieniä koristeita paikallisesta Tigerista . Kokonsa puolesta sopivat hyvin ripustettaviksi hillopurkkeihin.

2. Originally there are 5 different size of candle in a set from Ikea, I just removed the fifth. They can be placed on a mirror plate or a silver/golden tray.

2. Alunperin Ikean kynttiläsetissä oli 5 kynttilää, otin vain yhden pois. Ne voidaan asetella peili-/hopea- tai kultatarjottimelle.

 3. These lovely house candles are also from tiger. My son loves them as well, he made the first composition.

3. Nämä mukavat talokynttilät ovat myös Tigerista . Poikani pitää niistä myös, joten hän teki ensimmäisen asetelman.

4. And again other version of the Ikea candles with some golden and snow covered pine cones. Absolute simple.

4. Ja vielä yksi versio Ikea-kynttilöistä kulta- ja lumikoristeisilla kävyillä. Hyvin yksinkertainen.

5. Nacreous candles in numbered jars.

5. Helmiäiskynttilöitä numeroiduissa hillopurkeissa.

 6. My son's creation again of reused candle glass containers.

6. Poikani toinen asetelma käytetyistä kynttiläkupeista.

7. The absolute harmony with the living room.

7. Olohuoneen täydellinen harmonia.

8. This is the second time I can use champagne glasses of which I have only a pair. (First time I used them in last summer, for the same purpose :-) with flowers )

8. Toinen käyttökertani shampanjalasiparilleni (kesällä ne olivat käytössä kukkakoristeena).

Beware, that jars, cups, glasses etc or other candle holders (does not matter they are homemade or not) are not 100% safe. Before you use a candle, pay attention and read this:  Candle Safety Rules

I hope I inspired you a bit to implement your ideas.

I have inspired my husband already for making decorations, I just can not decide if he is more inspired by making decorations or making jokes of me :-)
