Red butterfly table cloth + crochet border pattern. Perhospöytäliina ja ohje.

Hello Everyone,

I bought some hobby textile in Budapest some month ago, and when I got back to Finland I recognized few things were missing from my luggage.... for example the same butterfly textile below, but in black and white color! Thief surely likes butterflies, or handicraft or just loves stealing whatever he can reach. So annoying thing. Since then I use belts and folio and other safety actions to protect my belonging when I travel. It was not the first time in Budapest, and hopefully it wont happen again. 

Anyway I have the red beige textile, and I was thinking a lot what to do with that, I decided to sew it around and crochet a border for it to have a new table clothes. No surprises! :-)

Ostin muutama tekstiilit Budapestista vähän aikaisemmin, mutta kun tulin kotiin, huomasin että muutamia tavaroita puuttui laukustani... esimerkiksi sama perhostekstiili kuin kuvassa, mutta mustavalkoisena. Varas varmasti tykkäsi perhosista tai käsitöistä, tai halusi varastaa ihan muuten vaan. Todella ärsyttävä juttu. Sen jälkeen olen käyttänyt vöitä ja foliota laukkuni ympärillä, kun matkustan.

Joka tapauksessa minulla on nyt punainen kermanvärinen tekstiili, ompelin sen ympäri ja tein virkatun reunan. Nyt minulla on taas uusi pöytäliina. Ei yllätä! :-)

Hello Everyone!

I had a short break of posting on my blog, but luckily my hands were not that lazy. This summer passed rapidly again, especially the summer in Finland was too short again. Never mind, we hope better for the next year! But I am not here chatting about the weather.

I made again a crochet doily - this time in white. I have many colors but I always turn back to the white color in so far the table clothes. I was wondering about what is the difference of having 10 or 100 crochet doilies? I guess 10 is love, 100 is addiction. No doubt I have a crochet addiction and long time ago I realized there are thousands of possibilities to crochet fantastic things not only doilies. But time to time I crochet a new doily for myself, however my doily storage drawer is pretty full already. My man would ask if do I need it, I would answer in his way: yes and no! I guess every addict knows what I mean.

Some says doilies are old fashioned and out-of-date, I say handmade with love and passion is always up to date, dear and amazing!

Minulla oli pikku tauko blogista, mutta käteni eivät ole olleet laiskat. Kesä meni Suomessa todella nopeasti, toivottavasti meille tulee vähän lämpimämpi kesä ensi vuonna. Mutta en halua jutella säästä, vaan käsityöstäni.

Virkkasin taas pöytäliinan - nyt valkoisen. Minulla on jo paljon erivärisiä pöytäliinoja, mutta aina teen valkoisen pöytäliinan uudelleen. Mietin mitä eroa on jos jollakin on 10 tai 100 virkattua pöytäliinaa? Arvaan että 10 tarkoittaa että tykkää liinoista, 100 tarkoittaa intohimoa liinoihin. Ei ole kysymys että olen himovirkkaaja. Huomasin jo kauan aikaa että on mahdollista virkata erilaisia juttua ei vain pöytäliinoja. Mutta ajoittain minulla on pakko virkata pöytäliina, vaikka minulla on jo paljon. Mieheni voi kysyä tarvitsenko niin paljon, voin vastata miten hän vastaa aina: kyllä ja ei! Arvaan että kaikki himovirkkaajat tietävät mitä tarkoitan.

Joku sanoo että virkattu pöytäliina ei ole moderni, ei ole kiva, minä sanon että rakkaudella tehty käsityö on aina muodikas, tärkeä ja ihana!

Patchwork table runners - Kaitaliinat.

I have been working on few colorful projects. Now parts of them are ready to show. I love crocheting patchwork table runners, after the first motive I can make the rest, and I decide the shape and the size of the  crochet!

Sunshine yellow. Auringonkeltainen

Hi Everyone!

Until now I did never like yellow, as a color. I bought some yellow yarn long time ago to crochet something of it. It was waiting its time....

It is the color of new ideas, and makes us to associate to lemon, egg, sunshine, banana, flowers, bees, and everything what is fresh and mostly related with summer. Yellow is considered the brightest and most cheerful of all the colors in the rainbow. 

Recently I crocheted some doilies or table centerpieces of yellow. I simple love them. Why? First of all because they are handmade and secondly because it is a fresh and nice color!

Minä en ole koskaan tykännyt keltaisesta väristä tähän mennessä. Ostin keltaista lankaa kauan aikaa sitten tehdäkseni jotain siitä. Lanka odotti aika kauan...

Keltainen on uuden idean väri, ja värin voi yhdistää aurinkoon, banaaniin, sitruunaan, kukkiin, mehiläisiin ja lähes kaikkeen mikä on tuoretta. Se on kesän väri. Keltaista pidetään sateenkaaren iloisimpana ja kirkkaimpana värinä.

Virkkasin muutamia keltaisia pöytäliinoja ja yksinkertaisesti minä rakastan niitä. Miksi? Koska ne ovat käsitöitä ja koska keltainen on ihana ja raikas väri!

Hope you are doing well. Spring is pretty late here, but never giving up. Same way, how I made my first doily maybe two and half years ago, I wish I made a photo of that to remember where I started. I kept practicing and today I show you that I made some tulip doilies in many colors. It is a very easy pattern - also for beginners. I share the pattern as well, what I found on internet. Grey-white crochets + pattern. Harmaavalkoiset virkkaukset + ohje

These are not black and white photos...... I made some grey-white crochets recently.

Recycled crafts to crochet are amazing and super easy to do, so you should definitely learn how to make for example crochet cans!

Moikka kaikille!

Nämä eivät ole mustavalkoisia kuvia... Minä tein harmaavalkoisia virkauksia äskettäin.

Uudelleenkäytettävät käsityöt ovat upeita ja todella helppoja tehdä, joten sinun pitäisi ehdottomasti oppia kuinka tehdä esimerkiksi virkatut purkit!

The pattern of the crochet rose:

1.  chain 25 (if you make more, the rose will be bigger, or less, it will be smaller)
2.  DC to the fifth chain from the hook , skip one chain,* DC, 1 ch, DC to the same chain, skip one chain*,  repeat until the end. (you make like V shapes) , turn
3. Crochet 5 DC to each DC-chain-DC space ( the first V)- here you get the petals, than SC between two V, 5 DC to every V space , SC between. Repeat until the end.
Leave a long tail,  threading the tail through a needle (the tail will be used to sew it all together), sew together. You are ready.

Virkattu ruusun ohje:

1.  virkkaa 25 ketjusilmukkaa
2.  aloita viidennestä silmukasta, virkkaa joka toiseen silmukkaan kaksoispylväs, 1 ketjusilmukka, kaksoispylväs
3. Virkkaa nyt jokaiseen kaksoispylväs-ketjusilmukka -renkaaseen 5 kaksoispylvästä, joista muodostuu kukan terälehdet ja virkkaa jokaisen viiden kaksoispylvään jälkeen yksi kiinteäsilmukka.
Kiedo virkattu pitsinauha spiraaliksi, jolloin siitä muodostuu ruusun kukinto. Neulo yhteen ja olet valmis.

And the doily comes here. Original pattern offered different edging, but I didn't like it, so I crocheted my own border.

Pöytäliina on tässä. Alkuperäinessä ohjeessa oli erilainen reuna, mutten pitänyt siitä, joten virkkasin oman reunan.

Today I made my first little crochet angels! There are many pattern available, it was so difficult to choose the one I really like.  My first angels I made according to Hungarian pattern -  however I haven't totally followed it, I made arms and neck bit differently, and they look skinnier. These are simple and so lovely angels. Thanks a lot kreaMojza !

Tänään tein ensimmäiset virkatut enkelini. Enkelimalleja on paljon, joten oli vähän vaikea valita oma suosikkini. Ensimmäiset tein erään unkarilaisen mallin mukaan - en kuitenkaan täysin noudattanut sitä, tein käsivarret ja  kaulan hieman eri tavalla, ja ne näyttävät hoikemmilta. Yksinkertaisia ja mukavannäköisiä enkeleitä. Paljon kiitoksia kreaMojzalle!

Crochet pineapple tablecloth + Pattern. Virkattu pöytaliina/ananasliina + Ohje.

Handcraft again. The weather has been lovely here but one never knows when it will change. So many house is already prepared for Christmas. I am not in a hurry yet.
I have crocheted this lovely pineapple tablecloth, it was the first time I made it and honestly I was a bit scared to make, but luckily it looks like as it should - a crochet pineapple tablecloth. :-)

Käsitöitä taas. Tänään on ollut kiva ilma, mutta kuka koskaan tietää, milloin se muuttuu. Monet kodit ovat jo aloittaneet jouluun valmistautumisen ulkovalojen yms. osalta. Minulla ei ole vielä kiirettä.
 Olen virkannut tämän ananas pöytäliinan. Tein tällaisen ensimmäistä kertaa nyt ja aluksi hieman pelotti, miltä se näyttää, mutta onneksi se on juuri sen näköinen kuin pitääkin - virkattu ananaspöytäliina. :-)

I have started it some days ago. First have to crochet rounds, than after the pineapples.

This patchwork - type of crocheting is very practical, because you make as wide and as long linen as you like, the frame makes it to be ready.
