Foxes and bears for Christmas. Kettuja ja karhuja jouluksi

Hi Everyone!

This winter I knitted many socks, but my absolute favorite is that fox socks. It is lovely. I still find it bit difficult knit with two colors, that is why I practice with basic patterns. :-)

Fox is a star in this winter, I found gorgeous cookie cutters in the town and made many gingerbread biscuits.

I crocheted some teddy bears and pandas, absolutely my own patterns, so I could make some cute little sets for kids. Hopefully they found their owners already!

Tänä talvena olen neulonut monia sukkia, mutta ehdoton suosikkini ovat kettusukat. Ne näyttävät hauskoilta. Kahdella värillä neulominen on mielestäni vielä hieman vaikeaa, joten harjoittelen perusmalleilla.

Kettu on talven tähti, löysin myös hauskoja piparimuotteja ja tein monia joulukettupipareita. Neuloin myös jotain teddykarhuja ja pandoja, täysin omia ohjeitani, joita tein lapsille. Toivottavasti ne löysivät jo omistajansa!

I wanted to buy more Novita Jenkka yarn, but could not find at all, so I had to find a solution for a leftover yarn, as you can see below:

Back to basics, knitted socks - Villasukat

Hi Everyone!

The very first thing I knew about Finland, that it is cold here - because it is in the north. The very first thing I recognized when I first visited here that my feet were freezing -because it was winter. In the first winter here I got to know Finns knits they own wool socks - because it is a very good thing and they need it indeed. 

And a great invention. In ancient times, socks were made from leather or matted animal hair. In the 16th century hand knitted socks were made first. So people had time to figure out enough patterns. :-) 

I have recognized in Finland it is very important what woolen socks you are wearing in the winter. It is like a competition. It is important who has the prettiest, most complicated pattern, or the who has the trendiest. The options of patterns and colors are huge. Sometimes I am amazed, what a miracle socks were knitted again and again. I can make already basic socks and it is time to try something else. :-)

Do not forget: mind what socks you wear because it says about your personality!

Ensimmäinen Suomesta oppimani asia oli, että täällä on kylmä  - koska maa sijaitsee pohjoisessa. Ensimmäinen juttu mitä huomasin Suomessa oli, että minun jalkani olivat kylmät - silloin oli talvi. Ensimmäinen talvena sain tietää että suomalaiset neulovat omat sukat - koska se on todella hieno juttu ja niitä varmasti tarvitaan.

Ja mahtava keksintökin. Muinaisaikana sukat oli tehty nahasta tai eläimen karvasta. 1500-luvulla on tehty ensimmäiset neulotut sukat. Ihmisille oli tarpeeksi aikaa keksiä monta ohjetta. :-)

Olen huomannut, että Suomessa on todella tärkeää, millaiset villasukat ovat päällä talvella. Se on kuin kilpailu. On tärkeä, kenellä on kaunein˛/monimutkaisin/trendikkäin jne. sukat.

Sukkien mahdollisia värejä ja malleja on todella paljon. Joskus ihmettelen mitkä kauniit sukat tuli tehty taas. Pystyn tekemään perussukat, olen harjoitellut tarpeeksi, nyt on aika yrittää jotakin muutakin. :-)

Ethän unohda: on tärkeä millainen sukka sinulla on päällä koska se kertoo persoonallisuudesta!

Knitted socks. Neulotut villasukat.

Hello everyone!

Hope you have a lovely day. It is a nice day here today... and still on the plus side during daytime :-) what I really learned to appreciate since I have moved to Finland.

When we had rainy days I had a lot of time to knit these socks in the last some weeks.

Moikka kaikille!

Toivottavasti sinulla on ollut mukava päivä. Minulla on ollut... ja lämpötila on vielä plussan puolella päiväsaikaan :-), asia jota opin arvostamaan Suomeen muutettuani.

Viime viikkojen sateiden takia minulla on ollut runsaasti aikaa neuloa sukkia.

 For the green and grey-white-red sock I used Novita 7-veljesta yarn and I used the pattern from the back side of yarn label.

Vihreään ja harmaa-valko-punaiseen sukkaan käytin Novitan 7-veljestä lankaa ja malli on suoraan langakerän etiketistä.

For the kids, to give away as a "thank you" present ... and a pair of knee sock for myself.

Lapsille vaikka lahjaksi...ja pari polvisukkia itselleni.

When I have moved to Finland, I recognized, that everybody has few pairs of handmade (knitted) socks, and almost everybody can do it. What a nice hobby! So I decided to learn it, however first time I bought circular knitting needles to make socks, because I was so sure that must be the way. I was quite naive, after a while I got the point and luckily I have learned to make the basic socks! yeh!! So proud of myself!

Suomeen muuton jälkeen huomasin, että kaikilla on muutama pari käsintehtyjä, neulottuja villasukkia ja lähes jokainen osaa tehdä niitä. Mukava harrastus! Joten päätin opetella sen. Vahingossa kuitenkin ostin ensin pyöröpuikot. Kesti hetken ennenkuin ymmärsin väärän puikkovalinnan ja vaihdoin ne. Nyt osaan tehdä jo perussukkia. Jee.
