Hope we will have a great February, at least it will be more sunshine than in the last few weeks. I mentioned earlier I try how long I can resist for chocolate, so I managed whole January without chocolate, so proud of myself, but I was missing it a lot. The only thing I recognized is that I lost some weight, but my skin is not nicer, and - as I wrote earlier - chocolate consuming has so many positive effects, what I truly believe. So based on my unscientific experience it is worth on consuming chocolate regularly! :-)
But lets go back to handicraft and have to remember that we are still in the middle of the winter, and its never too late to make some new cowls. One of the best things about cowls is that they are some of the most convenient crochet scarf patterns out there. I used again simple patterns, one is knitted other one is crocheted.

Toivottavasti saamme nauttia aurinkoisesta helmikuusta. Kerroin aikaisemmin tammikuussa aloittamastani suklaalakosta, kuukausi tuli täyteen. Olen ylpeä saavutuksesta, vaikkakin välillä tekikin kovasti mieli suklaata. Lakon seurauksena painoni putosi hieman, mutta ihoni ei muuttunut miksikään - kuten kirjoitin - aikaisemmin suklaalla on paljon positiivisia vaikutuksia, joihin uskon. Kokemukseeni ja epätieteelliseen kokeeseeni perustuen voin nyt sanoa, että suklaata kannattaa syödä säännöllisesti. ! :-)
Nyt takaisin käsityöaiheeseen ja muistuksena, että talvi on vasta puolivälissä, eikä koskaan ole liian myöhäistä tehdä joitakin uusia tuubihuiveja. Tuubihuivien tekemisessä auttavat paljon mukavat huivimallit, jotka soveltuvat myös tuubihuiveihin. Käytin muutamaa yksinkertaista mallia, yksi on neulottu, toinen virkattu.

Crochet cowl / neck warmer Pattern:
Round 1. Chain 96 and join with an sl ST into a back of chain (be careful not to twist the work)
Round 2. DC to the forth chain from the hook, than DC to the same chain. (So you have only 2 DC at the start) Make 4 DC to each 4th chain around. At the end of the first round crochet 2 DC to the same chain where you have started (where you had only two DC - to have the 4 DC here as well) sl ST to the first DC to close the round. It is important to close the rounds nicely.
Round 3. Where you finished the first round make 2 DC, than 4 DC to the middle of the next 4 DC. Continue according the pattern until you have reached the right size. Leave about 8-10 cm yarn to the and and fasten off well. I have 22 finished rounds, I used exactly 2 yarn balls.
It's light enough to wear in the spring, but substantial enough to keep you warm when the weather is a bit colder. It is perfect for anyone who is new to crochet or simply wants to work on a quick and easy project.
Tämä on tarpeeksi kevyt käytettäväksi myös keväällä, mutta tarpeeksi massiivinen pitämään sinut lämpimänä myös kun sää on hieman kylmempi. Tämä malli sopii niin aloittelijoille kuin helppoa ja nopeaa käsityötä etsivillekin.
The other cowl is knitted and super soft. I knitted short borders for both ends not to curl back, otherwise its a straight pattern, and I used sock knitting needles for this neck warmer. It does not have owner yet, but quite unisex pattern and color.
Allaoleva malli neulottu ja se on huippupehmeä. Neuloin kapeat reunukset molemmille reunoille estääkseni reunan kääntymisen, muuten kyseessä on suora malli tuubihuivista, johon käytin sukkapuikkoja. En ole vielä antanut tätä kenellekään, mutta uskoakseni se on unisex sekä malliltaan että väreiltään ja siksi sopii sekä miehelle että naiselle.
